The Two Ravens
In Norse mythology, the god Odin had two ravens, Huggin and Munin, who were his companions. Every morning the ravens would fly over the world gathering information for Odin. In time their names came to signify the two main sources of knowledge and wisdom: Thought (Huggin) and Memory (Munin).
It’s my hope that once again the Two Ravens will bring you some information, and perhaps even some wisdom, based on my thoughts and memories.

Who I Am
My name is Jim Moody. I’m a retired social scientist: a Linguistic Anthropologist with a special background in both Folklore and Mythology, and Psychological Anthropology.
I was raised in San Francisco, California and, after serving in the United States Air Force, attended the University of California (Berkeley) where I was awarded a BA degree in Oriental Languages and a PhD in Anthropology.
I have traveled both for pleasure and to do research in many countries around the world. I am now retired and live in Vancouver, Washington.
Hopefully, the stories and vignettes that you find here will be both amusing and interesting and will be a reflection of both my life and my studies.
